You board the diet train to slim land hoping to find that exact destination, but are disappointed. Then you take a flight to cardio once again praying to achieve what you set out for, but are yet again disillusioned. Why? You ask yourself. The answer is but simple. Only a diet or a Cardio is not enough to achieve the goal you want. What happens when one goes the diet path is that fro the time being the person gives up all the favorite oily and fatty foodstuffs. But as he realizes that he has lost ample weight he starts celebrating by resuming the intake of those given up goodies. Now. What results is thus; the body earlier used the excess fat for energy when food was in scarcity. And when the dieter started eating again the body stored up that as a source of food incase of future famine, which made all the lost fats to crop right back. Same goes for the cardio regime as well, you religiously start the gym and once you see that you have lost enough you quit it. While you were at the gym, your body’s metabolism had increased and hence it could burn up whatever you ate easily and faster. But once you quit, your body metabolism decreased but your eating habit remained the same so you bubbled up once more.

The road to success

Firstly, a fine combination of the two is necessary. You not only have to workout regularly but also maintain a small meal timetable. Remember it does not matter how many times you eat but what portions you eat. If you eat only three large meals in a day, they prove t be more damaging than four to five small meals. This is because small meals are fast and easy to digest and hence can be turned to energy, whereas, large meals get stored up as fats as they cannot be burned easily. Secondly, the diet and cardio should be accompanied with a positive attitude towards your body and yourself. This means you are not allowed to go into bounds of depression thinking that you are fat and ugly or you will never loose weight. Think beautiful and you will eventually be so. Keep in mind, thinking positive and hoping for the best is half the battle won already.
