Exercising has been for ages very useful in keeping man healthy. In recent times a common health hazard has been obesity. Obesity is a state of physical health where a man has excess of calories in the body, which cannot be used by the body to generate energy. This condition leads to serious ailments, which even can be fatal in nature. It is the cause of several diseases like artherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, diabetes and many more other diseases. Lesser physical activity during the course of the day has been a major cause of this state. Thus everyone should involve exercise as a daily activity so as to ensure greater physical mobility. Thus physical exercises are very important in burning those extra calories. Tread mill is gaining huge popularity as an instrument to do workouts. Treadmill is such an instrument, which enables a person to walk or run as desired that to in the cozy confinement of the home or gymnasium at any speed.

Working of the instrument

Treadmill consists of a platform, which is fixed at a position but can rotate on the same position because of the rotators attached beneath the platforms. In the more technically advanced machines the speed of treadmill can be adjusted as desired. The rotators beneath the platform of the machine are electronic in these cases. The side of the platform is fixed with metal railings to give support to the hands.

Exercising on the treadmill

There are three very important forms of exercises that can be done on a treadmill, they are running, jogging and walking. Running can be done by increasing the speed of the treadmill. While jogging is done at a brisk pace so the speed of the treadmill is kept comparatively lower than the running. Walking is done at a very slow speed so during this exercise the speed of the treadmill is kept to its minimum. While another form of walking exercise is power walking where the walking is done at a very high intensity. During this exercise the speed of the treadmill is increased.

Benefits of treadmill

Treadmill enables a person to workout whenever desired. It is not done under the extreme climatic condition so is more comfortable. It is a low- impact exercising device so cuts the risk of injury to the negligible amount.

Regular exercising is very important to live a physically as well as mentally healthy life and using treadmill, as a tool towards this cause is a very novel idea.
