Smoking is an act of consuming nicotine through cigarettes. Smoking to a great extent can be harmful to ones health. Smoking is the main causative agent of fatal diseases like cancer. Controlling and eradicating this habit before you become addicted to it can be very useful. There are ways to quit smoking. One easy way is to use substitutes to nicotine. When a chain smoker quits smoking all of a sudden, he/she has to go through withdrawal symptoms. It is mainly because of these symptoms quitting smoking is very difficult.

When a chain smoker decides to quit smoking, he should do so by giving it up completely. Smoking even a few cigarettes can cause huge damage to your health. Reducing the amount of cigarettes a day is not a good idea. By doing so, you will find yourself coming back to the same stage after some days. Choosing a low nicotine content cigarette in order to quit smoking is also not advisable. This would in turn increase the number of cigarette been smoked per day. This would help you in a positive result. Hypnosis, acupuncture and other medical help could be undertaken in order to treat withdrawal symptoms. One should avoid temptation as much as possible and also try to find substitutes for smoking, such as chewing gum, drinking juice or water etc. Above all, strong will power and support from family members and friends is the best medicine to quit smoking.
