Qigong is a traditional Chinese practice. Qigong is also being referred to as energy cultivation exercise due to the nature of the exercise. Traditional Chinese qigong involves various breathing patterns accompanied with varied forms of physical posture and body motions. Qigong basically practiced for health maintaining purposes but has also been effective as a therapeutic process. Qigong these days are also being practiced along with the Chinese martial arts. It has gradually become a part of the Chinese martial art. Qigong can also be very useful in combating with some of the health problems. Gaining extra calories is a serious health problem which should be at once address in order to prevent some of the fatal diseases which can be caused due to this. Excess of fat in the body is the result of inactive lifestyle of man due to the advent of gadgets and also unhealthy food habits. Exercises like qigong can be very effective to get rid of those extra pounds of fat, which has been a subject of health concern.

Qigong as an exercise to burn calorie

Qigong involves controlling the breathing procedure. The breathing procedure when controlled has got great effect on the process of metabolism in the body. Thus if the rate of metabolism can be increased through breath control then there are more chances of burning the excess of calories than could be done during the normal condition. Along with the controlled breathing procedure qigong also involves varied forms of physical postures and body motions. This part of the qigong ensures physical exercise. Physical exercise done in any form has always been very helpful to encounter the excess of fat in the body. Greater movement of the muscles than the normal course of regular life requires more energy and in order to synthesize that extra energy required by the body the extra calories of the body are being burnt. Qigong can be a good deviation from the normal form of exercises as it is very pleasant to practice.
