Karate is known primarily as a striking art, featuring punching, kicking, knee/elbow strikes and open handed techniques. However, grappling, joint manipulations, locks, restraints, throws and vital point striking are inherent to the art. So we can note that there is movement of each and every part of our body. It involves a lot of physical strength and also physical exercise. Moreover it adds to the flexibility of your body. As it involves various types of movements of the hands and the legs there is a complete workout of the body which you will not find in other exercises. Also while practicing this art you won’t feel tired though your body is doing a workout. All the steps are so designed that it rejuvenates your body and increases your strength and your power. While doing this due to the movement of the whole body heat is generated in the body and this heat so generated burns down the extra calories you have gained and keeps you fit.
