Ice-skating gives a physical exercise to burn the calories. Lots of body movement, speeding your body, controlling the body momentum ultimately leads the body to give a good exercise. Ice-skating is simply skating on ice with narrow blade like device molded on boots. Many sports are developed via this ice skating. Mainly ice skating is done on canals and lakes, where due to coldness ice coating is formed on the water. Many indoor and outdoor skating tracks were made, artificially for sport purpose.
How this ice-skating is done? In this ice-skating, a metal blade is put at the bottom of the shoe, which very smooth to create less friction on ice surface. Skaters control their movement by slightly digging or leaning slightly on ice surface. Also these leaning and pushing helps skater to increase their momentum. And the thickness of liquid depends on the degree of temperature in atmosphere. Skating is possible on -20 degree or more Celsius. Liquid layer starts melting on above -20 degree Celsius. On -7 degree Celsius kinetic friction is less. Hence, ice-skating is only possible in cold countries, mostly in Europe.
