Herpes can be contracted or transmitted via sexual contact with the infected person. It’s a viral disease causing agent being HSV-1 and HSV-2 virus. HSV-1 mainly effect area above the belt and HSV-2 below the belt area. It is important to find out about the disease and virus if someone is in active relationship. Both the person in the relationship must have active update about the disease. It is shocking news for people when they learn about herpes and sometimes people don’t even share it with their partners which increase the risk of the herpes to be transmitted. It is not as bad as people take it. If people understand the disease well the anxiety is reduced and the risk of transmission also get reduced
The symptoms sometimes get unnoticed and genital herpes has become so common in the western countries that it is found at an average of 25% among people. And around eighty percent of people are unaware of the fact that they are positive with the virus. The herpes virus gets transformed from one body to another via skin to skin contact or sexual intimacy. When the blister outbreaks and the fluid runs, this is the time when it is transmitted from one body to another. The intensity of the outbreak may vary from a mild blister and pain or just an irritation in the skin to painful outbreak.
Prevention is better than cure. Physical intimacy has to be kept aside if symptoms are seen with your partner. If the person is found out to be infected with HSV-2 virus or genital herpes than sexual contact of any type must be avoided. This can be judged from the tingling sensation around the genital, pain and numbness. The sexual moments should be regained when the signs of sores have cleared up around the genital area. Other intimate moments can be enjoyed like cuddling, kissing. The virus may even spread if symptoms are not seen. The most important way of staying away from the infection is being fully aware of one’s partner.
Doctors suggest the use of condoms to prevent the transmission but the virus may pass from the area other than the covered one. Condoms cannot be trusted and totally relied upon when it comes to herpes infection. But condoms are the best way of protection against other deadly disease like AIDS. Both the partner must visit the doctor and consult for proper medication and precaution that could be taken to prevent the transmission of virus from infected partner to another.
