Herpes simplex is a disease caused by viral infection. HSV-1 and HSV-2 virus. Oral herpes are caused due to HSV-1 virus and genital herpes were found to cause by HSV-2 virus. Initially it was believed that area below waist line is affected by HSV-1 virus and area above waist line by HSV-2 virus. But this rule is no longer valid as the sexual mores and customs are changing with the change in time. Depending on the site of infection herpes virus can be classified into different terms. Cold sores visible around face and mouth are oral herpes. Genitals may be affected and is known by names genital herpes. Herpes simplex virus cause various disorders like:
Herpes glaiatorum

Cerebral herpes infection
Mollaret’s meningitis, neonatal herpes
Bell’s palsy
Ocular herpes
The people with strong immunity can survive the attack of the herpes virus and sustain a good living. A body must have strong immunity to fight foreign materials. Person must have a good intake of protein and mineral rich diet to have strong immunity. The disease genital herpes may not show symptoms sometime and confusing the person and the partner may get the disease sexually transmitted which wouldn’t have occurred if the symptoms were visible. Though the virus may shed down but it remains in the body for life long as dormant virus and do its work latently. The revival of virus has been noticed many a time but no strong reason has been given by doctors, how it reoccurs and re-attacks the body. Though after some time the impact of virus is reduced.
The virus is passed from infected person via sexual contact with a cut or body fluid. Skin to skin contact also favours the transmission. Prevention has to be taken to avoid this disease; it is effective but not always successful. Earlier phases of the oral herpes and genital herpes are difficult to diagnose. Laboratory testing is done to find out the result is positive and negative for herpes. Herpes simplex is caused due to virus HSV and its complete removal is not possible from the body.
The entry of virus occurs at the primary site and then it migrates to membrane of the neuron and then becomes hidden in the ganglion. When the primary infection occurs, antibody is produced by HSV and virus check is maintained by the immune system. This prevents the spread of infection to other parts of the body. It has been thought that if HSV-2 occur before HSV-1, then it is difficult for HSV-1 to infect the body.
