Fluoroscopy and radiography are both diagnostic techniques used for medical investigations. Both these methods are used for the same purpose but in different ways.

In radiography, a registered medical radiation technologist performs all x-rays. The radiologist reads the x-rays and makes a study. In radiography, images are obtained electronically by using radiation to detect abnormalities in all different parts of the body. They are then viewed on computers trough computed radiography. .

Fluoroscopy is an extended part of radiography. It is special type of an x-ray procedure. It is done while the radiologist is present. You will receive a constant beam of radiation in the process. While this is being done the radiologist can view your images on a TV monitor and take individual pictures. All of the procedures are done using proper Fluoroscopy x-ray equipment.

Your doctor may arrange a chest x-ray to be done under fluoroscopy and it is known as the chest fluoroscopy. This technology will capture a particular region of your chest in a more detailed manner than a conventional x-ray. It is a very advanced X-ray specialization. The radiologists, while performing this task may ask you to move in certain positions for some pictures. This procedure is very much quick and involves no preparation. Thus, fluoroscopy and radiography are different methods working towards the same purpose.

Fluoroscopy is an imaging technique that is commonly used by physicians. It is used to obtain real-time images of the internal structures of a patient through the use of a fluoroscope. In Radiology, use of X-rays is done to view hard to image objects. People misunderstand as the use of ionizing radiation is radiography. But it is different.

A simple fluoroscope is made up of a fluorescent screen and an x-ray source. A patient is placed between them for diagnostic purposes. However, modern fluoroscopes merge the screen to a CCD video camera and x-ray image intensifier to allow the images to be recorded and played on the monitor.

In fluoroscopy, ionizing beam is used to draw many images. Fluoroscopy and radiography are very much useful in medical tests. Actually, they are very efficient techniques for diagnosis of abnormities in our bodies.
