Diagnostic Radiography

Diagnostic radiography involves production of high quality images that help to diagnose diseases and in assessment of patients. X-ray is one part of the diagnostic radiography. In radiography, images of the organs developed are helpful in diagnosis and treatment of the disease. Diagnostics technologies and radiographers use various type of imaging modality.

Diagnostic radiography involves conventional radiography that is called as the X-rays, computed tomography, ultrasound scanning, nuclear medicine and magnetic resonance imaging. Diagnostic radiography is important medium to treat the patients suffering with pulmonary infections, lung cancer, however currently diagnostic radiography is famous in the assessment of skeleton tumor and tumor like lesions. In detection and diagnosis of the lung cancer and pulmonary infections image of chest is useful and can be drawn with the help of X-rays. This radiography is also useful in detecting the cancer cells. Besides these diagnoses, diagnostic radiography is also useful in analysis of dental problems.

Recently diagnostic radiography is used in the determination of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficiency. In diagnosis of the ACL, portable stress is applied externally by using stresses radiography. It is found that in determination of the marginal winding of periodontal membrane space detailed narrow beam radiography is useful where as vertical bone loss, crystal erosion, fraction involvement or calculus can also be diagnosed with it.

In the treatments, Diagnostic radiographers take images of the organs and develop them for further diagnosis. For proper detection and clear images, they need to be trend and have sound knowledge of the radiography. Radiographers work closely with radiologist as well as other health professionals and gives diagnostic images with elevated level of care of the patient. Therefore, before going to project the images for treatment in diagnostic radiography, patient have to enquire for authentification of the radiographer.

There are various methods available in diagnostic radiography to diagnose the disease. Diagnosis of the diseases becomes easy by taking images of the organs. These images show exact location of the disease and discontinuity. Images required in the diagnosis can get automatically or they may get by manual processing. However, nowadays radiologist and radiographer prefer automatic processors than manual processes.
