The cervical dystonia is also known as torticollis or spasmodic torticollis is one of the common types of focal dystonia. The neck muscles which maintain the weight of the head are affected in the torticollis. It affects the balance of the head which falls to one side. In addition, there is the pulling of the head to forward and backward direction.

Such cervical dystonia muscle problem is occurred at any age. Mostly, in the middle age the individual affect by the symptoms of torticollis. It affects slowly and reaches to its higher level in some cases. The person who is suffering from torticollis has to experience continuous remission which is mostly long lasting.

As far as the symptom of the cervical dystonia is concerned, it affects various parts of the body. The primary symptoms contains weakening feeling while writing some lines, various cramps in foot, tendency of dragging the foot which may happen after walking and running for a distance.

In addition, in such situation, a person turns his or her neck reluctantly when he gets tires and under some stress. The blinking of eyes takes place frequently without any control so that the patient renders himself as a blind. In such situation, there is a possibility of feeling like shivering and problem in delivering the voice.

The primary symptoms of the cervical dystonia are very easygoing and it is felt by the patient after fatigue, stress, depression and long-drawn-out exertion. Due to ignorance to such symptoms, it spread widely and becomes brutal.

To eradicate such problem, the Diagnosis of torticollis is carried out by assessing the symptoms and signs of the torticollis. In addition, such diagnosis should be done by neurologist who is the brain and nervous system specialist.

In the diagnosis of the torticollis, the neurologist go conduct the blood or urine test, Magnetic resonance imaging means MRI test, genetic testing and EMG which is Electromyography.

It is said that precaution is better then cure. Therefore, to get rid of the cervical dystonia, the patient should go through some self care precautions like reducing the stress, taking sufficient rest, trying touching tricks.
